??No Borre??

In an effort to accommodate the influx of so many Spanish speaking people; businesses, schools and the government of the United States of America are putting bilingual signs, labels, and posting in their buildings as well as on their products. This most recently came to light when teachers at a US, English speaking school, were told to mark everything on their boards that they didn’t want erased with Do Not Erase/No Borre. I was appalled. This is America for Uncle Sam’s sake!

This policy is far short-sighted and ethnically biased. We should be accommodating all Americans, not just Hispanic-Americans. What about the French-Americans…..ne pas effacer? Why are we neglectinig the German-Americans…..Loschen Sie nicht? Who will be the voice of the Italian-Americans…..non cancellare? Or our Russian-American brothers and sisters…..He CTepeTb? And what about the poor Norwegian-Americans……ikke fjerner? It is an atrocity that in this great land of ours, where individual rights out way the good of the masses and common sense, that so many could go neglected and without a voice.

Where is the ACLU on this one? Why are they not looking into the blatant bias and discrimination that the businesses, schools, and government of the U.S. are perpetrating on these voiceless victims? I believe it is time speak up for these down-trodden. !!POLY-LINGUALISM NOW!! If it is posted in any language accompanying English, it should be posted in all languages not just the privileged few. Sure we will need larger signs with smaller print, but that is a small price to pay on the path to ethnic equality.

So, Adios for now, Predicador T
